180 Days in Springfield, a project of the Secondary Teacher Education Program at the University of Massachusetts School of Education, is a master's degree and initial teacher licensure program for qualified college graduates who are committed to teaching middle or high school in an urban setting. 180 Days has been working with the Springfield Public Schools since 1996 and has prepared over 180 teachers of excellence. The project is particularly committed to potential teachers who represent a variety of ethnic backgrounds and/or who are career changers.
