Algebra/Geometry for Middle School teachers -- The content of the course combines the content usually associated with introductory algebra and Euclidean geometry. The algebraic content focuses on functions, their properties, graphical representation and applications. Student will gain familiarity with: Exponents, Radicals, Factoring, Rational Expressions, Solving Equations and Inequalities Algebraically, Lines and Parabolas. It meets MTEL objectives 47-0005 to 47-0010 and Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks learning standards 4.P.1-4, 4.P.6, 6.P.1-6.P.7, 8.P.1, 8.P.2, 8.P.4 and 8.P.5-8.P.10.
Geometry content includes those topics that are traditionally part of Euclidean geometry: investigating geometric figures, transformations, triangle relationships and measuring in the plane and space. It meets MTEL objectives 47-0012, 47-0013 47-0014, and 47-0015 and Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks learning standards G.G.1-G.G.18.
