VISION – The Pioneer Valley PreK-16 Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Network (PV STEMNET) will become the primary regional organization for STEM education in the Pioneer Valley.

MISSION – The mission is to improve STEM education by fostering an environment of equitable collaboration and a coordinated effort among a variety of constituencies: K-12 schools, workplace, and higher education.

GOAL #1 – WORK IN PARTNERSHIP TO DETERMINE THE NEEDS AND PRIORITIES OF THE PIONEER VALLEY REGION –

Objectives --

1. Identify necessary data and collect regularly to measure the STEM performance annually.

2. Maintain up-to-date STEM resource file.

3. Review and update STEMNET priorities regularly in a collaborative manner.

GOAL #2 -- HELP NETWORK PARTNERS TO SECURE FUTURE FUNDING –

Objectives --

1. The Network will identify funding opportunities and inform Network partners.

2. Coordinate equitably grant-funding opportunities.

3. Solicit for and develop funding from private sources for shared PV STEMNET initiatives.

GOAL #3 – INCREASE AWARENESS OF AND INTEREST IN STEM EDUCATION AND CAREERS

Objectives –

1. Assist members in developing STEM career awareness.

2. Bring business and industry in as active Network partners.

GOAL #4 – DEVELOP AND SUSTAIN THE NETWORK

Objectives –

1. Maintain a leadership structure.

2. Facilitate cross Network programs.

3. Maintain active communication and information sharing.

4. Increase the participation by business and industry.
