Greenfield Community College held a Summer Science Enrichment Program to be held on the Main Campus of GCC this August 22-26. This program was part of the grant-funded Pioneer Valley Science, Technology, Engineering and Math project, or PV STEM and was free for qualifying students on a first come, first admitted basis. Students studies with some of GCC's most dynamic professors of Biology, Ecology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Criminal Justice.

This program was open to all students entering 7 th,   8 th ,   and 9 th grades. Professors led these students in a series of fun, science-related, full-day activities. The lessons were designed to make math and science exciting for young people, preparing them to consider careers in one of the S.T.E.M. fields. Each day one or more GCC faculty members who specialize in the various disciplines led the learning activities. Several activities featured a focus on forensic science, building on the popularity of the “CSI” shows. Free snacks and lunches were provided in the GCC cafeteria from 12-1 each day.
