Earth Connection is not just for high school students! The conference actively involves (and serves) five key segments of the public:

  1. High school age young people in school environmental clubs or classes, or community youth groups, who are interested in community service and environmental citizenship
  2. Teachers and adult advisors who are seeking connections, resources, and creative ideas for their work with these young people
  3. University faculty, staff, and administrators who are interested in stronger ties to K-12 education and in showcasing the University as a place for environmental research and education
  4. Undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in education and the environment
  5. Scientists, agency staff, and active citizens who are involved in environmental issues and want to share their expertise with young people.

In addition, the conference aims to reach a general public audience with its central idea -- young people can be resources for environmental problem-solving -- by encouraging media attention to youth engagement in community environmental projects.
