STEMTEC, the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Teacher Education Collaborative, is funded by the National Science Foundation/Division of Undergraduate Education CETP Program. It is a 5 year, $5,000,000 project, one of 3 such programs funded in 1997.

STEMTEC is managed by the STEM Education Institute at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and the Five College/Public School Partnership. Participating institutions: Amherst College, Greenfield Community College, Hampshire College, Holyoke Community College, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, Springfield Technical Community College, University of Massachusetts School Systems of Amherst, Franklin County, Hadley, Holyoke, Northampton, South Hadley, Springfield.
