Pathways to Change focuses on transforming college math and science teaching for all students, and especially for the future K12 teachers who will prepare the next generations of college students. Examples of such changes are inquiry-based teaching, group work (cooperative learning), alternative assessment, and the use of educational technology. Another example is the use of peer teaching or working with younger students to improve student learning and to stimulate thinking about teaching as a career.

Everyone interested in Pathways is invited to register and participate. The first day of the conference will be devoted to to business meetings for participants in the NSF Collaboratives for Excellence in Teacher Preparation. The remaining days will offer a variety of plenary sessions, breakouts, exhibits, and optional workshops open to all participants. There is an optional banquet on the evening of April 18.
